Spitsbergen Weissbier

Speaking of which – did you know…

that in 1932/33 Ms Wanny Voldstad from Tromsø became the first female trapper spending the winter at Svalbard. She went off to Hornsund with her friend, the trapper Anders Sæterdal, and the next winter even her two teenage sons joined them.

Spitsbergen Weissbier

Hops: Germany (Hallentauer Mittelfrü, Tettnang)
Malt: Finland (Vikingmalt)
Yeast: Weissbier yeast (Germany)
Perfect for: Sausages, pork, poultry, pizza and fish

‪Based on German traditions of mixing at least 50 % wheat to barley malt, this is a light colored top-fermented beer. Adding to the ancient wheat beer tradition, it makes sense to use ancient glacier water from Bogerbreen.
